3. Distribution map of primeval forests on the planned expansion territories of NNP "Hutsulshchyna"

4. Particular value of identified primeval and old-growth forests on the planned expansion territories of NNP "Hutsulshchyna"

The most valuable feature of the primeval and old-growth forests on the planned expansion territories of NNP “Hutsulshchyna” is the greatest diversity of their tree species composition. Here primeval and old-growth forests are represented by all major forest-forming species of the Ukrainian Carpathians: common beech, Sessile oak, Norway spruce and silver fir. This contributes to their very high cognitive value, especially in such a densely populated and touristically attractive area as Hutsulshchyna. This especially applies to the following types of stands: common beech-sessile oak, sessile oak-common beech-Norway spruce, sessile oak-Norway spruce-common beech, Norway spruce-common beech-silver fir and silver fir- common beech tree stands.
