May 4-5, the kick-off meeting of the socio-economic component of the “Carpathian Primeval Forest Conservation” project took place. The meeting "Development, branding and marketing of local eco-products (production in association with the nature protection)" in the area of nine national nature parks of the Ukrainian Carpathians” was carried out in the national nature park “Skolivski Beskydy”.

The representatives of the Ukrainian Society for the Protection of Birds and 7 national nature parks of the Carpathians attended the meeting. In her opening remarks, the National Project Coordinator Olga Yaremchenko noted the importance of the social component of the project as well as its successful implementation.

The employees of the national nature parks of the Carpathian region acquainted with the social component of the project, identified possible eco-products for each protected area and developed a relevant draft action plan.

Participants of the meeting visited herb plantations of the Krushelnytsky forestry and tasted delicious Carpathian tea. They also acquainted with the processing of raw materials (drying, cutting and packing).
